Thermal Imaging Project
Warboys Climate & Environment Group (WCEG) are once again offering free thermal imaging surveys for Warboys residents in December 2024 and January 2025. Contact Cllr Claire Sproats at clairesproats@warboysparishcouncil.co.uk to book a slot.
Over the winter of 2023/24, volunteers carried out thermal imaging surveys for almost 30 village households. This showed where heat – and so energy and money – was being lost from homes.
Using a state-of-the-art thermal imaging camera, householders could see areas of heat loss, helping them to focus on those places where more insulation could make a big difference in reducing energy consumption and costs.
Why do we need energy efficient homes?
Aside from the obvious cost saving of reducing heat loss, an energy efficient home reduces our dependence on non-renewable energy sources, burning less fossil fuels and putting less carbon into the atmosphere.
Thermal Camera now available to borrow!
Exciting news! Warboys Parish Council Climate & Environment Group have partnered with Cambridge Carbon Footprint and Huntingdonshire District Council to offer residents the opportunity to borrow, for free, a thermal imaging camera to identify areas of poor insulation, draughts, damp and more. Just visit Cambridge Carbon Footprint to book onto one of the free online training sessions (11th December, 14th January or 12th February). You will then be able to book out one of 17 thermal cameras, one of which is conveniently now located in Warboys!

Recycling
One positive change you can make for the environment is to reduce your waste, re-use where possible and recycle the remainder.
Confused about what goes in your blue, green or grey bin? Take a look at Huntingdonshire District Council’s What Goes in Which Bin? webpage or the following documents:
The Parish Council have also collated a list of additional recycling sites that are available locally for items such as batteries, baby wipe pack, pens, soft plastics and small electricals, details can be found in the Local recycling poster (PDF)
