Book of Condolence
Due to the pandemic restrictions. it will not be possible for Books of Condolence to be made available for people to sign in person. However, an on-line book of condolence is available below.
The Book of Condolence will be closed on the day following the funeral. Books of Condolence are essentially a local record of the sentiments expressed by local people on the death of a national figure. As such, they will form part of the Warboys Parish Council’s archive, so that future generations are able easily to gain access to them and find out the way in which national events were marked in the area.
The Chairman will be sending a letter of condolence to Her Majesty on behalf of the community and this will include reference to the Book of Condolence in Warboys and its existence in the local archives. The letter will be stored in the Royal Archives and act as an effective cross reference.

HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh led a full and fascinating life. He was such a diverse character who made a tremendous impact on so many people. I’m sure his legacy will go on to shape even more lives. Condolences to the Queen, her family and all who knew him.
Thank you for many years of service to our country and the Queen your Royal highness. You have showed true strength throughout the years with your compassion for the British forces and a tower of strength for your family. You will be sadly missed but your legacy will live on. We salute you Sir.
He was an impressive, characterful and wise man who exhibited a great sense of service combined with much humour. His multiple contributions to our society will be long remembered. He will leave a huge gap in the lives of many and especially the Queen and his immediate family.
Thank you for your many years of service to the country your Royal Highness, You have been a pillar of strength to the Queen and the Royal Family, as well as a father figure to the nation. Your pride in all of us, with amongst other achievements the DoE Award being a resounding legacy, will be treasured and never forgotten. You were a true leader of men and your support and camaraderie with our Armed Forces always shone through. You touched the hearts and lives of many. Rest in everlasting peace sir.
