Community Showcase Success – 21st September 2024

Last modified date

We are delighted to announce that the Community Showcase, held on 21st September, was a great success! The event brought together 15 fantastic stallholders, each representing the vibrant heart of Warboys. Among them was the Women’s Institute, serving delicious teas, coffees, and homemade cakes in exchange for donations, as well as Joan Cole from the Warboys History Society, showcasing her wonderful collection of village memorabilia. The Climate & Environment and Allotment Association were also present, promoting greener and more sustainable futures for all.

We extend our sincere thanks to all the wonderful local organisations for their participation and contributions to making the day a success. With over 60 attendees, many were eager to view the construction site of the new community centre and engage with Ben from Ben & Co, who kindly took the time to chat with residents. We were fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather throughout the event!

Warboys Parish Council also took the opportunity to launch several exciting new projects at the showcase. We introduced our Community Directory, a handy pocket-sized file that contains the contact information for all the incredible local organisations in one convenient place. Additionally, the Guess the Number of Bricks” competition kicked off—just £2 per guess! For more details, please visit the competition page.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you! We are encouraging all residents to take a moment to complete our quick Community Centre Questionnaire to share what you’d like to see in the new facility.

A special thank you goes to the Women’s Institute, who generously donated £145 from their cake sales to support the community centre. Your generosity is truly appreciated!

Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the event. We look forward to continuing to work together as we shape the future of our community.
